6MMRPC Week 4

Not too much done with miniatures, but I did get some more cavern floor tile pieces done.

After finishing painting the new tiles I sprayed them with matte sealant and then attached craft foam to the bottom to protect them from scraping.

Wondering what I can make so far?  Here's all that I have made laid out.

6MMRPC Week 3

A particularly busy week at work again, but I did manage to get a couple of things done.

First, I assembled most of the remaining Space Rangers and spray primed them blue. Now I need to parcel them out into batches so I don't burn out painting the same thing over and over again.

I've done several modular dungeons, most recently a gothic one, but I have done one using the cavern floor tiles before. Here's a shot of an assembled tile painted black.

And here's five painted first dark greenish gray and then khaki brushed on top. It's a good start to the project so far.

So three weeks in. No real completed projects yet but plenty is stuff happening.

6MMRPC Week 2

This last week was a lot more productive than the first week.  Not surprising, given that I'm now at home and not away on work.

So I've finished nine Space Rangers by ICE, now made by EM-4.  They have the same dark blue and white color scheme of earlier ones I've painted, so that they all match.  I did decide to abandon the silver weapons.  Those just seemed too "Flash Gordon," not that Flash Gordon is bad, just not what I was looking for with these guys.  From a "realistic" standpoint, I just can't believe that people would make shiny guns, reflecting light out there on the battlefield, even if you are clomping around in power armor.

So two weeks down.  I'm not really anxious about not buying miniatures and "can I make it six months without giving in."  I'm just enjoying having a little wind in my sails when it comes to doing something hobby-related.

6MMRPC Week One

ICE Space Rangers

Okay, so I'm getting my first WIP photo in under the wire.  You're supposed to post at least one picture a week, and this is mine.  Why only one?  Well, because I was traveling the entire first week of June and just got back today, just in time to get these guys primed, their base color sprayed on, and a first highlight layer applied.  For those who don't read earlier posts, they are Space Rangers from ICE.

I decided to get an easy start to the project by painting up these simple fellows rather than the fiddlier Chainmail minis, but I'll get to both of them eventually over the next six months.
